It employs patented "metal classification detection" technology to identify and categorize metallic items, thereby distinguishing between prohibited items and everyday personal items such as belt buckles and metal buttons, reducing false alarms only to prohibited metallic items.

While sensitivity can be easily increased to enhance security, this may also increase the false alarm rate. The observed false alarm rate among the general population is approximately 5%.
